What a good news to start off your afternoon with. Kangana Ranaut, who is best known for playing the rebellious Tanu, in the two Tanu Weds Manu films, will take up the role for the third time. Yep, the second sequel of Tanu Weds Manu has been announced by the makers.
Director Aanand L Rai, after the gigantic success of the second film, was often asked if the third installment of the film was in the making. He had said that only if there was a good script, he’d do it. Guess what, seems like he has indeed found a good a good idea for the script and plans on beginning work on it right after he finishes shooting with Shah Rukh Khan for his untitled next. “Once I am done with Khan saab’s film (he’s helming Shah Rukh Khan’s film), we will start working on the script for the third part,” the director was quoted as saying in a report by MidDay. That also squashes rumours of him and Kangana having a fallout.
Well, not just Aanand, Kangana is also too busy to start shooting for TWM 3. She has the ambitious project Manikarnika – Queen of Jhansi on her hands right now. It is only after finishing it that she’d be able to devote her time to anything else. So don’t expect anything on TWM 3 before 2018. “Once the pressure of Manikarnika is off me, I’ll meet and spend some time with him (Aanand). The third part of TWM will have to be crackling. So far, there’s no discussion, but the film might happen next year,” the actress had said in an interview. ALSO READ: Shah Rukh Khan’s dwarf film is NOT titled Batla, confirms Aanand L Rai
So far, we don’t know if R Madhavan will also return to the series to play the other titular character, that of Manu. But we know for a fact that one of our favourite characters won’t return to the series. Deepak Dobriyal, who plays the lovely Pappi, has moved on from the series. While talking to us, for his last film Lucknow Central, he revealed to us that he has no interest in playing the same character again. Check out the video…
Are you excited about the sequel? We sure are!
