Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu‘s Judwaa 2 is just around the corner and we are super excited about this one. Not only is the film looking entertaining, but we expect a lot of interesting twists and hilarious jokes in this one. Being the sequel to Salman Khan’s Judwaa, everyone is inquisitive to know how David Dhawan takes the franchise forward. People also want to see how Varun Dhawan matches up to Salman Khan’s performance in the original. With so much buzz around the film, we are sure it has the potential to be a huge hit. But, how much will the movie rake in at the domestic box office?
To know this and more, we rung up our trade expert – Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor). While talking about the buzz surrounding the film, he mentioned to us exclusively, “The buzz around Judwaa 2 is pretty good. There is a huge anticipation because it has been a while since a big, entertaining film came along. After Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, most of the big films have not been able to make their mark. But Judwaa 2 looks like its going to impress one and all. Apart from that, the fact that it is a sequel to Salman Khan’s Judwaa will also give it an initial push. But beyond the weekend, the content will take the film ahead. So, I expect it to open big, so fingers crossed.” (ALSO READ – Like Salman Khan, is Karisma Kapoor also a part of Judwaa 2? Releasing in 2700 – 3000 screens with such a huge buzz surrounding it and hit songs associated with it, we expect Judwaa 2 to rake in around about Rs 50 crore over the weekend. Akshaye also agrees with our prediction, as he added, “On day one, Judwaa 2 should make around Rs 13 – 15 crore and over the first weekend, it will rake in around Rs 45 – 50 crore.”
In fact, in it’s lifetime run, Judwaa 2 will certainly cross the Rs 100 crore mark and according to us, it might even rake in Rs 150 crore, making the film Varun‘s biggest hit ever. As Akshaye revealed, “It certainly will make Rs 100 crore. In fact, I feel Judwaa 2 will be in the range of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which is Varun’s highest grosser till date. It can surely end up as being his highest grosser till date. Honestly, I feel Judwaa 2 can earn anywhere between Rs 130 – 150 crore.” (ALSO READ – How much did Salman Khan’s Judwaa make at the box office in 1997? Read details…)
