Aamir Khan’s character from ‘Secret Superstar’, Shakti Kumaarr is going through a rough time.

There’s no doubt that superstar Aamir Khan is Mr Perfectionist of the Hindi film industry. After playing a ‘Haanikarak Baapu’ in ‘Dangal’, the superstar is back to play Shakti Kumaarr, a music director who has all the bad qualities one can imagine in a man, in his upcoming film ‘Secret Superstar’. This isn’t the writer’s assumption after watching one of the behind-the-scenes videos, rather a confession made by the superstar himself.

“He flirts with girls. Shakti Kumaarr has all the bad qualities you can imagine in a man,” said Aamir Khan. It is praiseworthy that a superstar who is otherwise known for his elegance and grace has risked playing a character who lacks a sense of style.

“Shakti Kumaarr is a music director who is going through a rough time. Such characters are barely written for any actor,” said Kiran Rao. Each time the ‘Dhoom 3’ actor tried on a different tight and colourful costume, he had the entire crew in splits.

“In his personal life, he is really simple, basic and organic. For him to wear these tight t-shirts, I think even he had a really good time,” said director Advait Chandan.

For national award-winning actor Zaira Wasim, it was a mental jump for her to witness the transformation of Aamir Khan from a strict father figure to a wannabe music director. “It was a mental jump for me to witness him in these quirky looks,” she said.

Produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla, ‘Secret Superstar’ is written and directed by Advait Chandan. The film is slated to release on 19th October 2017.
